What Is Supervised Rehab?
At Momentum Sports Injury Clinic, supervised rehab is more than just a few exercises with a physio. It’s a personalised, clinically-led journey that combines expert support with the right balance of independence and accountability.
What is supervised rehab?
Supervised rehabilitation (or supervised rehab) refers to a tailored recovery programme where every stage of your exercise and progress is monitored and guided by a qualified clinician or sports rehabilitator.
Instead of being handed a list of generic exercises to do at home, you’ll receive hands-on guidance, technique correction, and progressive loading under professional supervision.
At Momentum, this process begins with a comprehensive assessment. One of the clinical team will evaluate your injury, mobility, strength, goals, and lifestyle. From there, they build a custom plan—one that fits you, not a one-size-fits-all template.

FAQ
How long does a supervised rehab programme typically last?
The duration varies depending on your injury, goals, and how your body responds to treatment. Some people see significant improvements within a few weeks, while others may benefit from several months of structured support. Your clinician will give you a realistic timeline during your initial assessment.
Do I need a referral to start supervised rehab?
No referral is needed. You can book directly with us for an initial assessment, where we’ll evaluate your condition and discuss whether supervised rehab is the right path for you.
What should I wear/bring to my sessions?
Wear comfortable athletic clothing and supportive trainers. Bring water and a towel. If you have any medical reports, scans, or previous treatment notes, those can be helpful for your clinician to review.
Can I do supervised rehab alongside my regular gym routine?
Absolutely! Many clients integrate supervised rehab with their existing fitness routines. Your clinician will help coordinate your rehab exercises with your regular training to ensure everything works together safely.
What if I can't attend a scheduled session?
We understand life happens. Please give us at least 24 hours notice if you need to reschedule, and we’ll do our best to accommodate you at another time.
Is supervised rehab covered by insurance?
Many private health insurance policies cover physiotherapy and rehabilitation services. We recommend checking with your provider about your specific coverage. We can provide invoices and documentation to support your claim.
